3 challenges in energy procurement
... with which you are mostly alone
Energy world increasingly complex
Energy transition, bland headlines in the press, a flood of laws, self-generation, sustainability, geopolitical upheaval, rising grid fees, PPAs, ... it's hard to keep track!
Expensive and volatile energy prices
Prices on European energy exchanges have risen sharply since the beginning of the war in Ukraine and fluctuate considerably, often within just a few days. This will continue for the foreseeable future.
Different procurement models
Energy suppliers offer a wide variety of procurement models, each with its own set of advantages and disadvantages, along with risks and opportunities. Which is right for your company?
Why companies do not engage in professional energy procurement
Low priority
Energy procurement is not part of the core business for most companies
Not aware of risks
Decision-makers are not aware of the risks involved in their own energy procurement and what they are doing right or wrong
Too complicated
There is a perception that a tranche model is too complicated and only suitable for large corporations
No time
The decision-makers in the companies are caught up in day-to-day business and are putting off the issue
Non-specialist employees
The problem lies with employees with dangerously half-knowledge who take care of energy purchasing "on the side"
Where to start?
Decision-makers do not know how to approach the issue and who to turn to
Too expensive
There are fears that hiring external help is too expensive (spoiler: it isn't)
The solution : External Energy Procurement
... using the Energy Interest Method
